10 Simple Things That Make Me Happy!

I thought I'd keep this simple, and share a few things that really pick up my mood no matter how simple they are.
I don't see many posts like this on my Bloglovin' feed that just share simple pleasures, so thought I'd get going... in case anyone cares!

1) Foggy, Sunny Mornings. When I drive to work- living in the countryside makes everything look beautiful on these days. I constantly expect Colin Firth Dressed as Mr Darcy to come swanning across a field

2) Organising my food for the next day- self explanatory; I love knowing I'm going to be healthy and ready for the day ahead! (loser)

3) Facial Oils! My face is about as dehydrated as they come, taking off make up and massaging in oil is simply heaven to me

4) Family Time- Being 22, with a 25 year old brother who no longer lives at home means we don't get a lot 'family time'. So I now appreciate every Sunday with the 4 of us sat round the dinning table talking rubbish!

5) Tidy Dresser- tidy dresser, tidy mind right?? No? You can't tell me you don't feel compelled to photograph your dressing table every time it's tidy and organized?

6) Fig Bleedin' Candles. There's a very unhealthy obsession here, lets move past it, quickly!

7) New Mascaras, can't beat a brand new Max Factor Mascara!

8) Friday Afternoons. I work a long week, with a long commute and Friday at 5:30pm sends me into a frenzy for 2 days without stress and driving 35 miles a day!

9) Baking. I'm a keen baker, I love trying new things and exploring with flavours! Especially love making things that my family can enjoy and know they aren't eating sugary, fat laden shop bought goodies!

10) Being Anxiety Free. I suffer a great deal with anxiety and being a very panicky person. I don't know what's changed (possibly getting back into the gym) but the last month has been great, not a panic attack in sight and no anxious feelings to report!

Feel free to list your 10 happy things!

#CambMeetUp and Getting My Writing Mojo Back!

I'm sure you're well aware that I tend to dip in and out of this blog- one week I'm posting regularly the next I'm silent. This just comes down to the fact I'm a busy person and enjoy down time when I get it... I've been searching for inspiration recently to get writing again and at the perfect time the lovely Pippa from Clashing Time, organised a meet up for bloggers and vloggers in the South East of the UK.

I'm a really anxious person, for the idea of walking into a room full of strangers made me feel a bit panicky, I'll be honest, I did feel like backing out multiple times! but I'm so glad I ended up going, it was a really good chance to meet bloggers in the area!
I think being a blogger is a really hard thing to explain and discuss with family and friends who don't share this interest- there's a lot of  'why would people want to read about make up' etc. so being in a room of people who 'get it' and love it like I do was really amazing- I've met some lovely ladies who I can't wait to get to know better!
I'll go into the meet up in detail in another post, there were some amazing products and companies there that deserve their own post!

A topic that came up a lot at the meet up was content- how to individualise your blog from the mountain of beauty blogs online? The answer the majority gave- make it about you! The main reason I go off writing is because there's such a huge volume of the same thing for beauty bloggers, I feel like it's not enjoyable after a while and a post gets lost in a crowd! I've decided to just relax into this more and just post what I enjoy writing, but ultimately I started this blog to talk all things beauty, so beauty I shall chat- which a mish-mash of everything else!
So in short, look out for a post about my first meet up experience, it was amazing- here's a little peak at the goodies that I was kindly given!

Yes- I know...

I've been MIA for the last 2 months- I don't have a long story about being busy and how exciting life is at the moment, to be honest I've just kept myself off Social Media...
I've seen a lot of negativity in the youtube/blogging community in the last few months and decided I needed a time out- it's worked :) I feel like I'm back into the swing of things again, I have inspiration for posts (hopefully they will be regular!)

I've been a pretty miserable person for the last few months and taking sometime away from the internet has done me the world of good. I've taken a lot of time to evaluate what's important right now and come to a pretty good set of conclusions.

1) If it makes you happy- do it (Within reason!)
2) Money isn't the be all and end all of life
3) We get a very short time on the planet, live a little!

I think it's healthy to want to take a break from the internet- maybe not for 2 months next time, maybe just a week! I do feel better, more like I want to blog again not like it's obligatory as I've started this little corner for myself. I have missed whittering on on here about things hardly anyone cares about, kind of therapeutic isn't it?
Let me know if you've felt the same, how did you get out of a very boring, miserable rut?

Being Brave Enough To Be Selfish | Lifestyle

For about a year I've put myself in a situation that has made, quite frankly, a miserable person. In our society we've almost been trained that money is important, do what you can to get money so you can buy things you don't actually need... Only in the last 3-4 months have I really sat back and reflected on what I'm doing with the majority of my time and the impact it's had on my life. I've decided that I'm going to list down a few things to bare in mind when you're making important decisions, that in hindsight, I should have made to avoid a turbulent year.

Prospects:
Where is this going to take you? Something to keep at the forefront of your mind when making choices is if this has scope for development, can you gain experiences that you will value here? Although boring and I sound like a parent I really believe in this concept. Having somewhere to progress to whether it's in a job, a relationship or anything else in life, is so important, if you're passionate enough about something then knowing it won't end at the first hurdle and leaving you stuck on that jump is a great feeling.

Happiness:
Simple, but true. If you're not happy, why do it? we have a very short time here so why spend yours miserable? For me this wasn't what I thought about when I was making choices a year ago. I came out of university eager to start in the working world and took the first opportunity that came my way- at the time this was fantastic, I didn't take much into consideration, the prospects, the impact on others, healthy and obviously happiness. I'll keep this simple, if you're doing something that makes you feel less than you're worth- why? Obviously you should always try and resolve the situation and talk it out, failing that cut ties, I don't see the point of keeping negative influences in your life... I've always cut my losses with friends, work and much more when I don't feel any positive impact...maybe I'm a cynic?

Health:
I believe that nothing (within limits) is worth putting your health at risk for, be it physical or mental. whether its simply feeling run down from doing too much and needing a time out, or mentally exhausted it's just not worth it. For the past 3 months I've felt so low, very unhappy in myself which has taken a bit hit on a lot of my life.I'm usually as very upbeat person, I'm daft as a box of frogs so for me to spend many evenings upset has been a little worrying... I've felt unmotivated to do a lot about my issues, which for a good reason I won't disclose fully at the moment! whilst on holding I realised it#s about time to step back and realise it's ok to opt out of something if you're taking a weight from the situation and you can't take the strain.

Be Selfish :
The last few months I've been selfish, not in an awful way, in a personal way... I've stopped doing things because its 'cool' or other people want me too, if I don't feel comfortable or happy I'm simply not doing it. I'm looking for other options that will lead me to great places, something that will let me be myself while achieving a lot and I don't feel guilty, why should we spend our lives taking orders and crap about things that ultimately don't matter. explaining to my parents who are from the generation where "money is money, jobs aren't everything", that I'm trying to do something to make myself a better person that I ultimately don't care that much about money has been difficult, but part of this is being selfish and putting happiness first.
Give it a try!
